Here is my weekly workout routine for you to try! I went from being cardio lean to very toned and strong, maintaining my lean physique. I focus on each body part once a week with one day each dedicated to gluts and abs twice a week since these are my two favourite sexy body parts. I workout 6 days a week and each workout is about one hour (I have timed this myself). I do my main workout at 6am before I go to work and then I sneak some longer cardio sessions in the evenings and weekends such as spin classes and running. I have found that 30 minutes of intense weight training a day (and I mean working your ass off and sweating the entire 30 minutes) with 20-30 minutes of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) works the best for me to get stronger and keep lean.
Each day I focus on one body part to exhaust it and allow my body to rebuild that area in order to build muscle. This typically includes 5 exercises with 12 reps and 3 sets. I cycle through all 5 exercises doing one set then do two more times for the 3 sets with a couple of minutes rest between each cycle. This takes me about 30-35 minutes. Then I do 20 minutes of high intensity interval training (HIIT) which I have included some examples in my workout plan. The whole workout take 1 hour.
I workout hard the full hour and make sure my heart rate is elevated the entire time. I watch the clock to make sure I am keeping to the time limit and I try not to socialize too much as that cuts into my workout time. Every workout I try to lift heavier or do more reps to continuously challenge myself and be stronger. Heavy weight will get you results, if you stay at the same light weights, lifting the same thing everyday your body won't change and you won't see any results.
If you are wanting to start a workout routine and talking about it - make the commitment to yourself and do it! Get in the gym, start my workout plan and giver! Just getting to the gym is the first step and I always feel motivated once I start working out. I don't give myself the option to skip because when my alarm goes off at 5:20am trust me I will not be going to the gym if I thought there was an option. Starting a routine, getting to the gym and working as hard as you can is success!
