A little about me...

I have always had a passion for sports growing up and ended up playing some competitive rugby and field hockey. I raced some half marathons and triathlons, sometimes placing in the top three. This is where my passion for fitness and strength started and has grown over the years.
I tore my knee last spring where I had to take a break from running and started biking and weight training. I started out in the weight training classes and then started doing my own programs and experiments seeing what worked for me and what didn't. Seeing real results in a relatively short period (less than three months) was really motivating and encouraged me to keep going and lift more and heavier and get stronger. I believe being a strong woman is sexy and has increased my confidence and overall well-being.
Women at the gym started commenting on my strength and asking me about my program and diet. I love helping women become strong and fit and want to get past the myths that lifting weights will make women bulky and "man-like". I started this blog to help motivate more women to start weight lifting through sharing my fitness journey with my workout successes and fails.
